Dargaville our home town - things to see and do.....

The Kumara Box

Dargaville Museum

Kaipara  Machinery Club

Celebrate Dargaville’s famous Kumara state – and check out Ernie’s live Kumara show.  Only 10 minutes from Dargaville township, you could be sitting back and relaxing in Ernie’s shed (The Kumara Box) experiencing his unique stories (and some interesting facts about the Kaipara and the Kauri Forest to boot).
Bookings Essential! Phone 09 439 7018 or email us
Allow 60 minutes for the show & a further 30 minutes for the ride on the Kumara train  around the farm (weather permitting).
The hilltop Dargaville Museum is more interesting than most regional museums. There’s a large gumdigging display, plus maritime, Maori and musical-instrument sections and a neat model railway. Outside, the masts of the Rainbow Warrior are mounted at a lookout near a pa site, and there's a recreation of a gumdiggers' camp.

One of the biggest collections of restored and un-restored vintage machinery in NZ.
Some housed inside and some outside - right next to the Dargaville Museum.
